Benchmark’s Libraries save you re-inventing the
wheel and improve your estimate consistency and
accuracy. These libraries also capture the
knowledge of your senior people and enable this
knowledge to be shared
within your business. The Libraries
available in FULL include Resources, Items, Routines,
Quantity Takeoff Sheets, Clients, Subcontractors/Suppliers, and Standard and Special
Conditions.

Your Direct Costs for an estimate are the
Resources (Plant, Labour, Material, Subcontract)
used in your project. You can add
Resources from your Resource Library into an
estimate, or create new Resources within an
estimate. You can also add Items (which
are collections of Resources, and sometimes
known as Activities or Recipes) from your Item
Library into your estimate, create Items from
first principles within an estimate, or copy and
paste between estimates. Benchmark
contains an enormous amount of flexibility and
functionality to build up your direct costs for
a project; other features in FULL such as the
Item and Resource Calculator features, Allocate,
Auto Allocate and Supplier Manager are all designed to help you estimate
the Direct Costs of your project quickly and
easily.

Routines are a powerful way of estimating an
entire Project or an individual Item by simply
answering questions about the Project or Item
respectively. Benchmark's Routines feature is fast and easy to use
and will also increase consistency in your
business. When you run your Routine,
Benchmark allocates the appropriate Labour,
Plant, Material and Subcontract resources
required based on your answers to the Routine
questions. Routines are ideal for anything from
day-to-day quotes, strategic and concept
estimates, and can also be used to bid items in
larger projects.

apply a different % Markup on your Labour,
Plant, Material and Subcontract components of

able to be entered for your Indirect Costs,
including Contingencies (Risks) and Overheads
like Supervision and Wet Weather. You can
also add Items or Resources to "Overhead
Sections" for things like Site Overheads or
Mobilisation/Demobilisation; these Overhead
Sections are not displayed on your quote to your
client and are spread across your Direct Cost
items. In Benchmark's powerful Spread
screen you can control the spread of your
Profit and Indirect costs over your Direct Costs,
on an item by item basis.
